317 Laying The GroundWork For A Great Cocktail
/The winter holiday season is now in full swing. Those of us lucky enough to live in the South West are still enjoying warm sunny days. We can't think of a better way to celebrate than with a fresh new cocktail. Sunshine has created this sparkly libation for the fine folks at GroundWork who are always busy monitoring your data centers and cloud environments. All that monitoring can make you very thirsty. The GroundWorks Ginger Cloud combines fresh citrus juices, aged rum and the zesty sparkle of ginger beer.
Speaking of Ginger Beer, they are not all created equal. Three of our favorite are Bundaberg, Reed's and Gosling's. A good ginger beer has slightly more carbonation than a standard soda and a nice strong bite or burn from plenty of real ginger root. When making a Dark and Stormy, Colonel Beach's Plantation Punch or The GroundWork Ginger Cloud, be sure to use ginger beer and not ginger ale. If you truly are not a fan of strong ginger, you could use ginger ale in one of these drinks...but it just won't be the same.
Also on the show, Sunshine, Kalani and Starshine discuss how to be charitable and responsible at the same time. Taking care of others is a fine thing to do but not knowing where your donation or efforts really go isn't that smart. If you don't already check up on non profits, try this link and see if the group you support has a good record.
